The Civil Service and Government Development Bureau announced the opening of registration for the 'Mahara - academic path' program

Doha, August 08 (QNA) - The Civil Service and Government Development Bureau (CSGDB) announced on Tuesday the opening of registration for the 'Mahara - academic path' program, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE).

The program aims to enroll job seekers registered on the 'Kawader' platform who hold a high school certificate in diploma specializations within the government scholarship programs.

HE President of the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau Abdulaziz bin Nasser bin Mubarak Al Khalifa commended the cooperation with the MOEHE, indicating that it would have a significant impact on developing the skills and capabilities of the Mahara academic path program members, enabling them to obtain academic qualifications to increase their employment opportunities and guide them to specializations according to the needs of the labor market.

His Excellency praised the role of joint work between all government agencies, which were very cooperative in implementing the initiatives and programs proposed by the CSGDB during the past period, aimed at raising Qatarization rates in the government sector through the two tracks of immediate replacement and future replacement, which contributes to the realization of Qatar National Vision 2030 by investing in and developing human cadres.

In turn, HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi expressed her pride in the continuous cooperation with the CSGDB through the recent launch of a number of initiatives, including academic competencies, Tamkeen, and Mahara, which are based on education as an essential element in developing national talents and cadres. Her Excellency said that through the 'Mahara - academic path program' would give high school graduates who meet the criteria of the program the opportunity to receive academic scholarships in the disciplines needed by the state according to the needs of the labor market.

For his part, CSGDB's Civil Service Affairs Director Saif Al Kaabi indicated that the 'Mahara - academic path' is directed to job seekers from high school graduates, as it would give them opportunities for government scholarships for a diploma degree in specializations needed by the state, pointing out that they would receive a monthly stipend of QR 5,000 throughout their studies, in addition to their direct appointment in government agencies after the successful completion of their scholarship.

The 'Mahara - academic path' program comes in line with the vocational (technical) training path in the Maharah program. It aims to send holders of high school certificates, who meet the criteria of the program, on scholarships in academic diploma majors in meteorology, air traffic control, aircraft maintenance engineering, practical nursing, electrical power engineering technology, electrical engineering technology, information technology, communication and network engineering technology, and associate diploma in information technology in University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST), Community College of Qatar (CCQ), and Qatar Aviation Academy.

Interested applicants can enroll in the program by visiting scholarship.edu.gov.qa The program criteria stipulate that the job seeker must achieve a minimum of 60% in the high school certificate, applicants must be under the age of 30, applicant's high school certificate should not exceed five years from the date obtaining it, and applicant's level of English in the certificate is not less than 60% or a score of 5.0 in the IELTS test.
