The General Directorate of Traffic announced that from October 1, companies and institutions can renew their vehicle registration only online through Metrash2 and MoIQatar E-Services Portal. They will not be able to do it at the traffic counters at the Fahes centres.
In a video posted on the official account of the traffic department, First Lieutenant Turki Shadid Al-Kaabi, from Licensing Affairs Department at the General Directorate of Traffic, added that the vehicles need to clear the Fahes inspection and pay the insurance before registering online.
There is an online link between Fahes and all insurance companies operating in Qatar, in cooperation with Qatar Central Bank using Traffic department data.
Once you enter the vehicle details in Metrash, there are two green lights for Fahes inspection and insurance. If both are green then you can proceed to make the payment.
This facility can be availed by individuals also and they can get their registration card delivered at home by Q-Post. This comes in handy especially for new vehicles as they don't need to clear inspection for three years.
