First phase of Doha Metro vows to lessen traffic on Qatar roads!

The Doha Metro is almost upon us after many years of deliberation and construction. The gargantuan project is set to connect each and every landmark of Qatar's capital city while providing access to the eight equally-epic 2022 FIFA World Cup football stadiums.

It was reported during the second quarter of this year that the Qatar Rail has worked on 77% of the entire Doha Metro project, including 81% of construction work and 59% works related to installation of various systems.

The brand-new and state-of-the-art developments that the Doha Metro has been undergoing to SOON cater to people's transportation needs in and beyond Doha.

The Red Line

The Red Line stretches form Al Wakrah in the South to Lusail in the North, providing excellent connectivity with the Hamad International Airport to central Doha, the West Bay area, and the new Lusail City.

The proposed date for the inauguration of Red Line's first phase (from Al Qassar to Al Wakrah) is on the last day of the current month (October 31).

It passes through: Barwa Village, Family Food Center, Al Bidda Park, Qatar University, Katara, DECC, and Doha Corniche


The Gold Line

The Green Line passes through Doha from East to West and travels along the Al Waab corridor to Al Aziziyah.

It passes through: Ras Abu Aboud, the National Museum, Souq Waqif, Al Sadd Sports Club, Khalifa International Stadium. Villaggio, and Aspire Park


The Green Line

The Green Line starts from Msheireb, linking Hamad Hospital and the Education City with its final stop at Al Riffa with a pedestrian link directly to the Mall of Qatar

It passes through: The White Palace, Qatar National Library, Qatar Foundation Stadium, and Al Rayyan Stadium


All three lines serve the the centerpiece of the Doha Metro network Msheireb station and will connect all major landmarks of Doha, including FIFA 2022 World Cup stadiums—Lusail, AL Rayyan, Education City, Khalifa International, Al Thumama, Al Wakrah, and Ras Abu Aboud stadiums!

The video also spilled out that the Phase 1 Network is just the beginning as it will soon be extended following the spirit of the of the Qatar National Vision 2030
