A bird’s eye view of the under-construction Al Rayyan Stadium Arena, one of the venues for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The construction work is in full swing for the 40,000 capacity stadium, which will host the World Cup matches till the quarter-final stage.
Built on the site of Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium, the new Al Rayyan Stadium will incorporate various symbols of Qatari culture and is inspired by the sand dunes of the nearby desert. The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy will deliver the venue using environmentally- friendly building materials and practices.
Latest pictures of the under-construction stadium were published by SC on their social media page.
Every part of the stadium district has been designed with sustainability in mind. After the 2022 FIFA World Cup, almost half of the stadium’s modular seats will be removed and given to football development projects around the world.
